UTSC-Communication and Conflict

Thursday, June 19, 2014, 01:00pm - 04:00pm

Conflict and risk are a part of our lives every day. Conflict and risky situations are a common occurrence in the workplace. Yet, often, dealing with it can be difficult and even contentious. And the results can be unsatisfactory or even irreconcilable.

In this course you will be taught proven strategies that are successful in a variety of situations. Disagreements, strife and conflict are all part of the workplace and life in general. Our goal is to transform negative to positive behavior, and channel your thoughts and emotions into greater satisfaction and profits.
This course presents the "nuts and bolts" of conflict management.

  • Identify common communication mistakes, conflicts and how to avoid them
  • Adopt techniques for building rapport and achieving trust from your colleagues
  • Reduce stress and understand the nature of conflict
  • Demonstrate effective listening to ensure you are fully engaged
