Casual/Time Management – HR 7-300

The HRIS Casual and Time Management Course requires learners to have a general understanding of navigating and using the functions on the HRIS system.  Administrative staff responsible for processing HR employment and payment data for the casual employee groups within their department/division should attend this course.


At the end of the session, learners will be able to:

  • Discuss their understanding of different Casual employee groups at the University and how it relates to an employees pay
  • Apply a common understanding of hiring using Fast Entry, cross-appointing, entering payments, attendances, reactivating and deactivating in the HRIS system using procedure documentation as a tool
  • Apply a common understanding of increasing tax exemptions, creating records for additional tax deductions and recording tax exemptions
  • Navigate the Human Resources and Equity website to find all pertaining policies and instructions for online pay


e-Token - For this particular course the attendee should have an e-Token and ensure that it is activated prior to coming to the course. If you do not have an e-Token assigned to you, please inform the instructor and someone will log you in when you arrive. Information on obtaining and activating an e-Token can be found on the Information Technology Services website or by speaking to your department administrator.
