HRIS:CUPE 3902 Unit 1, 3, and 5 HR 7-350

The HRIS CUPE 3902 (Unit 1, 3 & 5) Course requires learners to have a general understanding of navigating and using the functions on the HRIS system.  Administrative staff responsible for processing HR employment and payment data for the CUPE 3902 (Unit 1, 3 & 5) staff groups within their department/division should attend this course to acquire the skills needed to display, enter and maintain teaching assistant, sessional lecturer and postdoctoral fellow employee records and payment data in HRIS.

At the end of the session, learners will be able to:

  • Discuss their understanding of casual employees at the University as it relates to pay
  • Apply a common understanding of hiring, cross-appointing, entering payments and reactivating teaching assistants, sessional lecturers and postdoctoral fellows in the HRIS system using procedure documentation as a tool
  • Apply a common understanding of increasing tax exemptions, creating records for additional tax deductions and recording tax exemptions
  • Navigate the Human Resources and Equity website to find all pertaining CUPE 3902 (Unit 1, 3, 5) salaries and instructions for onlining pay

e-Token - For this particular course the attendee should have an e-Token and ensure that it is activated prior to coming to the course. If you do not have an e-Token assigned to you, please inform the instructor and someone will log you in when you arrive. Information on obtaining and activating an e-Token can be found on the Information Technology Services website or by speaking to your department administrator.
