RIS:Reporting Basics

This repeat is an exception to the normal repeat pattern


This 3-hour course is intended for academic administrators and administrative staff responsible for research funding applications and awards for a department or faculty.

Experienced users can attend only Part 2.


Part 1: 9 AM to 10 AM

  • RIS web tools available to the University community (e.g. My Research Applications and My Research On-Line)
  • overview of the life cycle of a Research Award
  • how to find, display, and print Funded Research Digests (FReDs)


Part 2: 10 AM to noon

  • FReD batch report and annual award reports
  • various criteria available to display award results, including the pro-rated feature
  • method for downloading the RIS report results for further analysis and manipulation
  • Essential FIS reports for Research Funds


Requirements: 1) At least some AMS experience. 2) Please bring your AMS SecurID card if you have one.
